BBC’s Ray Gosling Arrested; Confessed Lover’s Murder On TV (Video)

BBC TV presenter Ray Gosling’s confession of a murder some 20 years ago led to Gosling’s arrest and release on bail today. Watch the video clip, where Ray Gosling confesses that he smothered a lover who was suffering from AIDS. During the documentary for BBC’s “Inside Out” about death and dying, Ray Gosling commented, “And maybe, this is the time to share a secret that I’ve kept for quite a long time. I killed someone, once.” Gosling continues, “He was a young chap, he had been my lover, and he got AIDS.” When doctors said they could not help his lover who was in “terrible, terrible pain,” Gosling said, “I picked up the pillow, and smothered him

until he was dead. The doctor came back, I said, ‘He’s gone.’ Nothing more was ever said.” Ray Gossling was arrested on suspicion of murder following the on-air confession. He was released on bail. Gosling said that the two “had a pact” – “When you love someone, it is difficult to see them suffer. It’s a terrible situation. I loved him to bits. We had a pact. He said if the pain gets bad and if nothing can be done, don’t let him linger on. I don’t think it’s a crime. If he was looking down on me now, he would be proud.”
